V’wada Railway Division Surpasses Scrap Sales Target

The scrap sale includes materials like rail scrap, S&T waste, engineering waste, miscellaneous waste, iron, steel, and other metals

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway said it has surpassed its scrap sales target for the financial year 2024-25. The Division has exceeded the target of Rs 79 crore set by South Central Railway, achieving Rs 79.60 crore in scrap sales as on date. The Division has disposed of 14,272 MT of scrap material through e-auction this year, marking a significant milestone in efficient asset management.

The scrap sale includes materials like rail scrap, S&T waste, engineering waste, miscellaneous waste, iron, steel, and other metals, which were disposed of through e-auction. Vijayawada Division has disposed the fixed targets, three months ahead of financial year 2024-25 closure.

Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, SCR congratulated K B Tirupataiah, Sr. Divisional Materials Manager, Vijayawada Division, SCR for achieving this rare feat. He stated that this outstanding achievement is a testament to the Division’s commitment to efficient asset management and its efforts to maximise revenue through scrap sales. He also highlighted that administration is making continuous efforts towards making Vijayawada Division scrap free, greener and more sustainable in all aspects. The Division’s proactive approach to identifying and disposing of scrap materials has yielded impressive results, contributing significantly to the railway’s overall revenue, he added.
